The whole ceremony helps me to remember that I'm part of this love relationship with Jesus, and that as a church we're gonna marry him as a pure and spotless bride. During the ceremony, I couldn't help but think of this picture my friend painted for me the day before. He was telling me that Jesus, as the bridegroom, weeps over his bride. And that is the kind of intimacy and love Jesus is inviting all of us into.
Oh, how that melts my heart.
